　2学期クォーター制について

● 2学期クォーター制とは
　　2学期クォーター制とは、前期・後期の授業期間をそれぞれ半分に分けて「クォーター」ごとに授業を行う制度です。学籍や授業料については、

前期・後期の「学期」単位で取扱います。

 

　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　

　

　　授業は以下の3つのパターンで開講されます。①，②をクォーター開講科目，③をセメスター開講科目と呼びます。
　　　　①週1コマ8週
　　　　②週2コマ8週
　　　　③週1コマ16週

 

●2学期クォーター制の導入によるメリットについて
　　第一の目的は、留学や海外インターンシップ、ボランティア等の学外活動に参加しやすくするためです。1つのクォーターと休みの期間を組み合わせることで、在学したまま学外活動に参加した上、4年間で卒業することも可能となります。第二の目的は、週1コマ8週の授業、あるいは週2コマ8週の授業により短期集中的に学修することを可能とするためです。短期間に授業を実施しクォーターごとに試験を行い、その都度学修成果を確認することによって、集中的に学修することができます。

Quarter System
From AY2016 Kobe University offers classes according to the format detailed below.

Merits of the quarter system
1. Previously, students who left during the academic semester in order to study abroad could not receive credits for that semester. In the quarter system, students will be able to complete the course in the standard duration, even if they participate in summer programs and short-term study abroad during the academic quarter and vacation period.
2. The quarter system provides access to a variety of activities such as volunteer work and international internships.
3. Shorter courses (1 class per week for 8 weeks or 2 classes per week for 8 weeks) will enable students to concentrate their studies over a short period of time.

Class schedules
We offer classes according to patternsⅠ-Ⅲ described below. Patterns Ⅰ and Ⅱ are “quarter classes”, and Ⅲ take the format of “semester classes”.
Ⅰ）1 class per week for 8 weeks (including examination days)
Ⅱ）2 classes per week for 8 weeks (including examination days)
Ⅲ）1 class per week for 16 weeks (including examination days)
