The Kobe University Summer Program has given me many new insights about both the university and Japanese culture. The location of Kobe University makes it a really nice campus with natural landscapes. Although we didn't live on campus, we got to experience a normal day for students at Kobe University.

We took the same bus, ate in the same cafeteria, and attended the same lectures and seminars with students of Kobe University. This was a great opportunity to get to know what it feels like to be a college student in Japan.
Other than the normal lectures and seminars, we also had special lectures that were prepared only for the program. While the normal lectures and seminars provided us with a basic understanding of the teaching style and classroom culture, the special lectures gave us deeper insights about the content of the classes and the professors of Kobe University. The special lectures covered a wide range of topics, including Japanese language, law, engineering, economics, and sociology, which provided the information we wanted to know about our own majors in Kobe University. Because of the professors' professionality and their passion for their research, even as a sociology student, I found lectures of other majors fascinating as well.
By having discussions with exchange students from China currently studying at Kobe University, we learned a lot about studying abroad as Chinese students in Japan, from the application process to job hunting after graduation. The advice from these exchange students will be extremely valuable for us when we actually start to study and live in Japan. This is an experience I could not have without this program.
Outside the campus, we also had excursions to Kyoto, Osaka, and other places. We experienced Japanese tea ceremony, visited some of the most famous temples, shrines, and castles, and learned many things about traditional Japanese culture. We also learned about modern Japan by visiting the NHK offices, K Computer, and Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake Memorial. The program found a balance between academics and excursions, which provided us a full picture of different aspects of Japan.

If you are interested in Japanese culture, and if you want to study abroad in Japan, I think this program will be a good opportunity for you. Kobe University is one of the most famous universities in Japan and this program will give you an opportunity to communicate with local undergraduates and experience lectures from outstanding professors of Kobe University.

I come from China. I am a student whose major is EE (electronic engineering) and not only did the engineering lectures inspire me a lot, but also some economics lectures gave me a general understanding of other subjects. In a word, for our students in STEM, I believe that it is a good chance to improve ourselves.
Meanwhile, I think it is important to talk with students from your country currently studying in Japan to learn about life in Japan. If you plan to study in Japan in the future, I believe that you must have some questions about "studying in Japan". Joining this program, you will get a chance to talk with students studying abroad in Japan face to face. It will help you make a plan for studying abroad.
Besides, there is also a splendid and unique culture in Japan. In this program, you get a chance to visit Kyoto and Osaka. As for me, it is unforgettable because I can travel with my friends and student supporters.
My time in Kobe is one of my most precious memories. The beautiful harbor and enthusiasm of people there impressed me a lot. Join this program, I am sure that you won't regret it!

Although the summer program in Kobe University only lasted for a short period of two weeks, it was very meaningful and unforgettable. I not only gained knowledge here, but also friendships.

As a Japanese elementary learner, the Japanese class at Kobe University gave me a good preliminary understanding of Japanese language learning. The economics, law, and sociology classes gave us many opportunities to interact with leading professors in various fields. We got the chance to exchange ideas and discuss the similarities and differences between the societies of China and Japan, and explored the social problems that exist in these two societies. During this process, we enjoyed the spark of cultural collision. In addition to learning, Kobe University also arranged many relaxing and enjoyable excursions for us. These short and unforgettable journeys let us relax and study more efficiently. In addition, I also met a group of very friendly partners. When the program came to the end, everyone was very sad and looked forward to meeting next time. All in all, the summer program at Kobe University is a very memorable experience. I hope I can return to beautiful Kobe and visit Kobe University again in the near future.
