Computational Approach to Mechanical Sciences Course
Advances in computational approaches to mathematical sciences, knowledge sciences and mathematical statistics

Mathematics has branched out into a lot of fields through thousands of years.  As time passes by, there occurred various changes concerned with our sense of value and methodology.  In recent years an important change crossing fields is in progress. Namely the technique 'computation' is now re-emerging.  This movement is connected with the current developments in computer systems/software,  and is a radical one related to a wide range covering fundamental theories in mathematics and applications to sciences.  It is our aim to pioneer the frontier in investigating the problem 'limits of computations' and in collision of 'computation' and theories.

Course subjects

This program course 'Computational Approach to Mathematical Sciences' is implemented in cooperation with the staffs of Graduate School of Sciences in Mathematics and of Graduate School of Technology in Computer and Systems Engineering. Its curriculum consists mainly of computational approaches to mathematical sciences, knowledge sciences and mathematical statistics.
By learning these classes, we expect students to be able to comprehend mathematical sciences from a point of view of computation, and conversely to study computation mathematically.
