In an era of increasing collaboration between Asian universities, with many new developments in education and research, the Center for Asian Academic Collaboration at Kobe University is proud to host The Third Annual Conference: The Asian Forum for Leaders of Japanese Studies (AFJAS) in Prestigious Asian Universities.

The theme of this year’s forum is “Japanese Studies in a New Asian Era”. Twelve celebrated scholars of Japanese Studies from major Asian universities will explore the meaning and role of Japanese Studies in the wake of the creation of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) and the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC). The keynote lecture, on research and education in Japanese Studies in Vietnam, will be given by the President of Foreign Trade University (FTU) to commemorate the Liaison Base between FTU and Kobe University (established in April 2015).
