On November 3, 2008 Kobe University and Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) concluded an Agreement of Academic Cooperation. In accordance with this agreement, and with the objective of further fostering academic exchange and cooperation between the two institutions, on January 1, 2015 the International Collaborative Research Base was established within BFSU. The Kobe University section of the base was opened on April 1, 2016.

This research base is Kobe University’s fifth overseas office, following the establishment of the China Office (2008), the Brussels European Center (2010), the Hanoi Liaison Base (April 2015), and the Liaison Office in Kraków (December 2015).

Main Activities
Organizing collaborative research, symposia, and workshops in order to foster international collaborative research and to discover and train promising young researchers.
